Okay, this might be the hardest one I've done thus far. Natasha Romanova has a very complex and dark background. There are a couple of enneagram types she might line up with.
For those of you not familiar with the Black Widow, she was originally a Russian spy who eventually defected to the United States and became an agent for S.H.I.E.L.D. She lives in a cloaked word. Secrecy, deceit and willingness to do the dirty work was a part of her daily life. Her past is messy and cloudy. An orphan, she was "adopted" and brought in to a program with other orphans, being brainwashed and trained as a killer.
While not graced with super powers per se', her training in martial arts, skill as a sniper, world class gymnastic ability, tactical intellect and wide array of high tech weapons more than made up for any perceived "weakness". She was also "enhanced" by biotech giving her body resistance to disease and ability to heal quickly.
She eventually became a member of the Avengers, however, her initial contact with some of her future teammates was, to say the least, not friendly. Battles with Iron Man, manipulation of Hawkeye to fight Iron Man, etc. During this time, she began to question her loyalty to the KGB, fell in love with Hawkeye and eventually defected (Joining S.H.I.E.L.D.) after the KGB attempted to eliminate her.
She has continually been confronted with her past and struggled with many, many aspects of it. It is an amazing attribute to who Natasha is at her core that she can continue moving forward every day. The extreme dark nature of her youth would have stopped most people in their tracks. Yet, Natasha found it within herself to move to the light finding purpose and meaning by seeking out and destroying oppression anywhere she finds it!
So, how might Natasha be characterized from an Enneagram perspective?
Type 5 - The Investigator
A Type 5 Investigator is loosely defined as Intense, Cerebral Type: Perceptive, Innovative, Secretive and Isolated.
As mentioned above, this one was difficult but I believe the characteristics identified for this type generally fit the Black Widow. Intense, secretive and isolated are a given. Her superior, tactical intellect fits the cerebral component. Her perception gift is off the charts as she easily identifies another person's psychological weaknesses and rapidly exploits them. So, that leaves innovation. Well, without super strength, super speed or other brute force ability to solve problems, innovation becomes her number one weapon. Rapidly finding unique solutions to remove barriers or defeat enemies is all about creativity which she demonstrates time and time again.
So, what do you think? Leave your comments and don’t forget, Have Fun!
